Going Solar for Zero Cost

Tues. Nov. 11th – In a move that is great for the DCR, great for Sonoma County and great for the environment, We have secured Solar Power that will generate electricity for the fish hatchery, visitors center and other buildings at the base of Warm Springs Dam northwest of Healdsburg, as well as the DCR’s River Rock Casino and its other facilities near Geyserville for ZERO COST to us. Under a cooperative venture between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Dry Creek Band of Pomo Indians, an 8 megawatt Solar Array will be built. This is a win/win for everyone and we are very excited to watch this project come to life.
